We couldn't have asked for more perfect weather to hold our Winter Fun Fly! Clear sky, sunshine, calm winds. It is rare to find such a beautiful day in January. It is pure good fortune to have it coincide with our event.
Many thanks to Dave Crysler for getting the clubhouse prepared and providing the electric and heat for the clubhouse. Thanks to his wife and mine for preparing the food.... and all the guys that brought desserts. Big thanks to Jon Stotz for plowing the drive and the parking area. Brian Bruckner used his snowthrower to clear a section of the runway for planes with wheels.
We appreciate all the club members and pilots from other clubs that showed up and provided the entertainment for all.

Well, so far this year the Professional Meteorologists seem to have problems forecasting the weather, but I am making this prediction 2 weeks in advance that Jan 21 will be wintery! That is because we are holding our annual Winter Fun Fly, and it just wouldn't be a Winter Fun Fly unless it was bitter cold and blustery! Last year we had 5 degrees as I was driving to the field and a white-out crosswind blowing 26 mph directly out of the South, However, we have a lot of hearty souls that brave the elements to enjoy the Flying, bonfire and hot chili. This year we'll be setting up at the Sparrta field around 9 AM. Flying to commence at 10 AM, and a hot lunch will be served at 12 Noon. All current AMA members are invited to fly with us. Spectators are welcome to watch the activities free of charge! |

Our club member Brian Bruckner contacted both of our US Senators regarding our concerns regarding legislation that could impact our hobby. I have posted both of their responses under "Newsletters" tab |
